About Dan & Jan
Dan Hersman, President, began his fiberglass career in 1978 at San Juan Fiberglass Pools in Lakewood, CO, learning the fundamentals of fiberglass lamination. He later managed Lifetime Fiberglass Tanks, overseeing fabrication, safety, and operations while advancing his FRP knowledge, followed by work at Mesa Fiberglass, where he gained expertise in blueprints, resin applications, and advanced fabrication for government projects. Returning to San Juan Pools as Production Manager, he led all aspects of pool and spa manufacturing before founding Sunset Fiberglass, completing projects for Ocean Journey (now The Denver Aquarium), US West, Coors Brewing, and private clients, as well as teaching fiberglass repair classes. In 1997, Dan purchased Quality Pool Supply in Boulder, merged it with his company, and eventually rebranded as San Juan Pools of Colorado, specializing in fiberglass pool and spa sales and installations across Colorado and Wyoming.
Jan Hersman, Vice President, worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 19 years, earning awards and Letters of Appreciation while holding high-trust positions, including vault work, million-dollar hand deliveries, ETS training, employee orientation, and supervisory support. In 1999, she transitioned to San Juan Pools of Colorado, where she continues to meet clients, guide projects, and provide education and support throughout the pool installation process.
